American psychologist Donald Hoffman says reality might not be as it seems. He says a computer image isn’t that but 1’s and 0’s, similarly we might not perceive the actual. Human perception is primarily visual, we interpret reality as matter. For him, rather than matter consciousness is reality.

Donald is examining the source of the world, we have always wondered who or what created the it. He claims consciousness creates it, “it’s a logical flaw to think that if we have to take it seriously, we also have to take it literally.” Matter is for communication, an epiphenomenon of consciousness. We make sense of the world through seeing and use matter as the stage. He subscribes to Monist theory which suggests matter doesn’t actually exist but is used for communication between conscious agents.
