Phuket is a tourist hot spot. Actually tourism is a large part of the Thai economy, along with rice exportation. Living in Singapore for over 20 years I might come for a long weekend. I must add Phuket isn’t my favourite spot in Thailand. I think I can trust my memory on this, that goes to Ko Pha-ngan.
We’re staying at Duang Jitt, apparently it has the biggest pool in Phuket, nevermind the beach. It’s probably around 50 years old and unrenovated, with a shower that doesn’t work properly and the toilet takes a very long time to flush. Although they did change our mattress when we complained about it. Quite a nice room, but not a bungalow like most other beaches I’ve stayed here. We won’t stay here again. For memory, my walking deteriorated.
A 4 day holiday to Phuket for CNY. I’ve been to Thailand many times, more than 20 I reckon, all over. It amazes me how many places I remember: Bangkok, Koh Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, Koh Tao, Koh Chang, Koh Lanta, Chang Mai, Chang Rai, Surat Thani, Krabi, Ao Nang, Nopparat Thara, Raileigh, Phuket. Many more I reckon, I should look at a map, most places several times. I’ve seen a lot of the country from trains.
