Greece

Writing now from Santorini a day after arrival. Years ago I’d find a room by tout in person but today with the internet Santorini has become an expensive place, exceptionally high prices for a room. Once $20 a night now at least $200 and more, 1000s for views, money has become the god, a tourist mecca. Having been to Santorini many times this might be my last. Perhaps the country that saw to the birth of western civilisation will also see its end, always ahead of the game Greece is. We need to move past money. In truth my walking is making it difficult to get around here, so hilly with steps. Can’t wait for Athens.

There are more than 500 churches in Santorini, and a dormant volcano, a marriage between the physical and spiritual worlds. Indeed Greece is a fertile place for thought exposing much fruit thereof.
