We visited an old favourite, Hoi An, Vietnam. Tam Tam there (the photo) a great bar, Morning Glory a good restaurant. We met a few locals, a person I called ‘the epitome of the human condition’, a thinker, many may have said a beggar. There was also a spot near a bar I referred to as rats corner with actual rats.
We abbreviated that nickname ‘the epitome of human condition’ to ‘TEOHC’ pronounced “teok”. He was always looking about in the refuse, I found it difficult to clearly understand his purpose. It was as though he was looking for something specific. What it might be escaped me. It wasn’t clear as he put all manner of things in his pockets.
Matthew GOOD LUCK , and my very best wishes to you and Angelina, Love Dad … Love Dad …
Can’t wait for us to return to Hoi An, the Venice of Asia. And we hope all your memories of the place will come flooding back having spent significant lengths of time there in the past…rat’s corner is indeed as the nickname suggests…it’s right by the river and crawling with rodents!
