You once said we won’t need politics on Mars, we no longer need representational government here on Earth. Communications have given us the internet, we should move past old systems. Democracy was the outcome of the French revolution in 1789, a process for collective decision making, a replacement to the monarchy. The bourgeoisie took over establishing the vote. Todays implementation of democracy might use the internet to get decisions directly from the people. Better than voting once every 4 years for a representative to make decisions on your behalf.
