Deciding whether to go to Taiwan again provoked the memory of travel from China. I remember going to Bhutan, a fascinating county, focussed on existence I thought. Their key metric is GNH rather than GDP, Gross National Happiness as opposed to Domestic Product. I remember doing much of it on foot, there were fewer cars. As I say, more interested in life itself, Buddhism rated highly. I remember it being quite hard to get a visa, which were issued for a limited stay. Wonder if I could visit again? I must say, it felt like a real escape from the hustle and bustle. Simple buildings acknowledging their place in the landscape.
