Koh Samui again. It is perhaps my most visited travel destination. Back in the day, it was a ferry to Koh Samui from Suratthani. Then after several visits, a car ferry came in. Now an airport.

When I first came there were no cars, you took a bus from Nathon to Chaweng. Today, grid lock. It was a different experience back then, a departure from civilization. Cannot believe what’s happened to Chaweng, it’s been around 10 years since my last visit.

I think there is still an island in Indonesia with only donkeys for transport. Anyway, here for my birthday. Just forget what was and enjoy the now, if you can. It really has changed so much, no cars all those years ago. It’s become the country’s number one travel destination. Thailand’s biggest export, travel.
