Must comment on the recent killings in Minneapolis by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
US citizens Alex Pretti and Renee Good were killed by ICE weeks apart. Both victims were immediately labelled local terrorists. ICE claimed it was acting in self defense, video footage suggests otherwise. There is no evidence to excuse the killings. ICE was sent to Minneapolis by president Trump, “to massively increase the number of deportations carried out…” according to google.
People who live there strongly protested. One must wonder as to the real motivation for sending ICE there, it only caused civil unrest. Trump used the Insurrection Act, which permits the government to use US troops locally. There certainly was no need for troops, for military defense in the absence of such an attack. Perhaps soldiers are more impulsive, they certainly aren’t trained police. To deploy the US military against its own people is certainly questionable.
